More than four thousand people arrived at the front lawn of the historic Campbell House in Toronto for Steam On Queen, Canada’s first Steampunk street festival. That’s more than four times what was expected. Clearly the festival’s collection of merchant tents mixed with creative public performances ignited a lot of curiosity. Even the Campbell House Museum was shocked to see how many people took time out for their historic tours. Amongst the belly-dancers, sideshows artists, and corset fitters there was old fashioned lemonade, medical oddities, and exhibits of Steampunk inventions by mad geniuses.
