The Grumpy Guide To Life
By Grumpy Cat
Kindle/iBooks/Kobo
Three Stars
“Never lead”, advises Grumpy Cat in this book of self-woe, “always follow. It’s easier to trip someone from behind”. Filled with captioned cat photos, this guide to nurturing your inner grump deconstructs themes of love, nature, family, career, and friendship (or lack thereof). It’s a silly, sometimes-witty, collection of gags already made familiar by the internet that adds little.

You are a God again. This follow-up to Peter Molyneux’s Populous has you sculpting the land and bestowing nature’s gifts to villagers in exchange for their prayers. It’s your job to protect them from hooligan tribes and giants while upgrading their civilization through the ages. I like the puzzle voyages you can send them on and the light touches of comedy and music, but there’s few dramatic choices and so I suspect your village will be no different from mine. You can be a God, but a very predictable one.
