Here are my Metro News reviews for the week of Jan. 26th
American Sniper Enhanced Edition
By Chris Kyle
Kindle/iBooks
Three Stars
Conversational video interviews and pop-up gun profiles only add to this book’s extraordinary access to Navy Seal techniques, yet it’s Kyle’s friendly story-telling that stands-out as he captures the way his drive to conflict with prejudice creates vulnerabilities for himself at home and his family. It’s compelling growth from someone with a very polarized, black-and-white, “friendlies” vs. “savages” world view.

Rating: Everyone 10+
Five Stars
When you carry a back-up supply of cloned bodies, throwing yourself into harm’s way only to swap out before you die becomes a clever way to bypass chasms, security beams, and other hazardous surprises. Amid a haunting atmosphere of space isolation, the crumpled bodies do take their toll, but it’s the extraordinary discussion hidden within of souls and minds and the unusual conflict that can arise between the will to survive and the will to live that makes this puzzler worth talking about as much as it is worth playing.
